What Does CAMP Provide?
The CAMP program is focused on relieving the pressures that a freshman can face.  We focus our assistance in academics, counseling and helping with their financial aid.  We begin by assisting them in completing their forms that are necessary for admissions, their financial aid and other services that the college provides.

Academics, we provide a mixture of leadership and career development via our academic coach, social counselor and helpful staff.  The academic coach is a staff member who dedicates his time not only providing educational tutoring, but also teams up with each of our students to explore their chosen academic major.  The Academic Coach also works cooperatively with professors to help insure the students success.  Students get that 1:1 attention they may need with the academic coach and if more help is needed he refers them to  someone who can help them.  Each student will have a good idea on how their academics are progressing each month.  This will also bring the student as well as the professor closer to get to know each other, helping to create an enriched, educational experience for both.
Counselor, focuses on our students' orientation to campus life. Meetings with our counselors occur in both an individual and group environment.  The counselor provides our students with personal, extracurricular, and/or cultural guidance. She acts as a liaison for our students with campus clubs and organizations, and facilitates the development of a support system to improve study and social skills for college survival. Money to help you with the cost of college!

Financially, we assist each of our students in applying for all available grants, scholarships, and/or government school loans. Once a package is compiled we compare the amount of money the student was awarded with the cost of attending college. If funds are still missing we provide a grant for what is needed up to $1300.00 for the first year.  Also taking into consideration that students have basic needs, we provide our student with a weekly stipend for them to use as they see fit.  Additionally, we know that college text books could cost up to $ 800.00 for the first year, which is why we buy the books for the freshman to use and we have created a lending library to let our older students borrow books, so that their book cost can be less over their college career. Our students come from NY and surrounding states and transportation could be a major expense for them.  We have set aside funds for all needed holiday travels and occasional weekend visits.  This money can also be used for field trips at college and other events if needed.  A typical package for a student in the CAMP program could be up to $3,600.00, as long as the student qualifies and applies on time.
