Yoga: A Philosophical Demonstration
and Guided Meditation

An Introduction to Yoga Philosophy

Ashok K. Malhotra is Distinguished Teaching Professor of Philosophy at SUNY Oneonta, where he has taught Yoga and Meditation for over thirty years. In September 2002, he received the Bharat Excellence Award for promoting literacy among children of India. His books include Pathways to Philosophy (with Douglas W. Shrader, Prentice Hall 1996), Transcreation of the Bhagavad Gita (Prentice Hall 1999), Instant Nirvana: Americanization of Mysticism and Meditation (Oneonta Philosophy Studies 1999 & 2007), An Introduction to Yoga Philosophy (Ashgate 2001), and Wisdom of the Tao Te Ching: The Code of a Spiritual Warrior (Global Scholarly Publications, 2006).

In this featured presentation, Professor Malhotra will:

1)      discuss various schools and types of Yoga, including  popular versions in the west,

2)      provide demonstrations of physical and meditative exercises, and

3)      encourage the audience to participate.
